Boys Varsity Soccer team are District Champions!!!

The boys beat LaSalle on Friday, Feb 1st in penalty kicks. This is Mater Lakes first District Championship in soccer.

The Mater Lakes boys’ varsity soccer team made history on Friday, Feb 1st, 2019. The district championship game was versus LaSalle High School. The game was held at Ransom Everglades at 7pm.  The majority of the game MLA was down 2-0 until the last 8th minute, MLA scored a goal. Then with four minutes remaining, MLA tied the game with another goal. This led the game to go into overtime and MLA won in penalty kicks. Senior, Juan Campos, scored the winning penalty kick. The boys’ soccer team was ecstatic with the achievement they made as a team especially our ten senior boys that get to graduate with this accomplishment. They got to bring to MLA the 1st place district trophy. Senior, Adrian Olave says “I will never forget that winning moment as I got to make MLA history as a team.” In addition to having an undefeated season, this is Mater Lakes first District Championship in soccer.

We want to wish our boys varsity soccer team good luck as they play their Regional Quarter Finals versus Keys Gate at St. Thomas University at 7pm on February 6, 2019. Congratulations and Good Luck boys!
